A: Bilbo feels scared because he doesnt know where anyone is and he can only hope that they werent caught by the goblins. The company hopes the same and that they didnt lose him because he was a good chap.
2. Compare and contrast Bilbos story of what happened to him with what the narrator said happened to him. How do you account for the differences? What would you have done if you were Biblo
A: We would be scared and hope that we could find them or just go back home and hope they find me.
3. How does Bilbo change since chapter one?
A: Bilbo is more confident and brave and is wiling to help the dwarves.
4. Riddle competitions have been used since primitive times to decide the fate of someone or something. How is the tradition reflected in the company's reaction to Bilbo.
A: They act like they need to help him with riddles if they get into a riddle battle and help him be able to make up riddles off the top of his head. And he does not tell the dwarves he has the ring.
5. What functions does this setting serve in this chapter?
A: In the setting they find Gandalfs tree burned down and it upsets them on their journey.

One of the techniques Tolkien uses to support the conceit that the narrator is relating true history is to make connections between the origins or the real world language and the imaginary world of the story. In chapter 1 ( page 17) he has the narrator explain the origins of the game of golf. How does he use this technique in chapter 6?
A: One of the techniques he uses is he has a riddle copetitoin with golum and bilbo to see who lives.
