BLING BLING BAAAAABBBBBAAAAYYYYYY
chapter 15
1.what role(s) have talking animals played in the plot of this story so far?

2.bilbo thought "that the adventure was, properly speaking, over with the death of the dragon "and the narrator says he is wrong. what enemies might the company have?what do you think might happen?

3.what did the company do while they waited for the armies to aproach

4.how did thorin react to the elves and men? how did the rest of the company feel? how do you know?

5.compare and contrast the dwarves songs on pages 261-262 with their songs on pages 13-15

6.bard and thorin each present their view of the situation. how do you judge the situation?
i think bard is more reasonable with the dwarves becase the town just got burned down.

7.what causes thorins hardness of heart?
he wants the arkenstone so bad and he is overwhelmed by the treasure.
chapter 15 "the gatering of the clouds"
1.the roles talking animals have played are that once the spiders attacked them and bilbo saved the dwarves. And another is when then lord of the eagles saved bilbo and the dwarves from the wolves and the goblins.
2.the enemies the company might have are they will be enemies with smaug because they are trying to take their treasurs back that he toke.
3.the hid in the cave while the army arrived
4.thorin would have died and they then givin up his gold.
5.they are both about going to the mountains and getting their gold. the difference is that they are very close to getting the gold back.
6.i think bard shouldent expect anything.
7.thorins hardness of heart is causes by he wants the treasure all to him self

Chaper 15

1.they have carried important information to the characters and given the story more character.
2. If the dragon died than it would supposed make it easier to collect the treasure but others want that treasure and before Smaug was the only thing in their way.
3. They sealed off the entrances and got ready for a battle.
4.He prepared for battle than feared for the worst.
5.The first is talking about how wonderful the adventure would be and the second is talking about Thorin himself and how mighty and wonderful he is.
6.The differances of the communities and the want for treasure along with the need fr treasure caused a clash of armies in defence and offence.
7.Thorin really wanted the treasure for himself along with the arkstone wich Bilbo had give away.

chapter 14 " fire and water " michelle mendoza and krissy pinto

1.the towns people think that thorin came out of the mountain.

2.bard actually cares about the towns people and the master really doesn't because when smaug was attacking the master left and bard defended the towns people and bard killed smaug. the techniques tolkien uses is that he showa that bard is a very brave man and the master is weak and doesn't defend his people.

3.the setting of this town is important in this chapter because that is where bard is and that is where smaug attacked them.

4.the situational irony for me in this chapter is that I didn't expect smaug to attack the towns people and i didn't expect for smaug to die. none of my predictions are fofiled because i thought smaug went to look for food some where far away.

5.the motives that guided the wood-elves journey east is that they want to catch bilbo and the dwarves because they escaped and because they have treasure

6.I predict that smaug will not be dead and he will look for bard , bilbo and the dwarves.
