chapter 12 "inside information"
1.the characteriizations of bilbo and the dwarves is that the dwarves are selfish because they made him go into the cave first.And bilbo is very brave because he did it.

2.bilbo steals the cup because because he wants to act like a real burgler.

3.tolken says that smaug is kind of like a big tom-cat and smaug says his skin is hard as armour and his teeth are as sharp as swords.

4.bilbo tries to trick smaug by not telling him his real name and telling smaug riddles about himself. Smaug tells him to help himself to the treasure but he really wants to trick bilbo so that smaug could eat him and smaug knows that bilbo is with 14 dwarves. Bilbo is succesful because he sais ponies take some catching and so do burglers and bilbo ran.

5.Bilbo says he is a barrel rider and thats where smaug might suspect they are going next.

6.the dwarves are very excited and thorin is looking for something but he cant find it nor will he mention it to the dwarves.
