1)Write characteristics of bilbo and the dwarves based on this chapter- Bilbo is braver in this chapter and takes on the dragon in a talk and the dwarves just kind of go along with bilbo

2) What motivates Bilbo to steal the cup?-what motivated Bilbo to steal the cup was that he was so close to the treasure ad he just wanted it in his hands

3) What tequnices does tolkien use to characterise smaug?-Tolkien says that smaug is very big with huge sword like claws and he also says that smaug is red and gold

4) expalin how Bilbo tries to trick smaug and how smaug tries to influense bilbo. is either succsessful? explain. include a clarification of bilbos riddle-talk.-Bilbo tries to trick smaug by talking to him in riddles and smaug tries to trick bilbo into telling him his real name, and bilbo is succsessful except for the part where he told smaug about lake town and smaug isnt succsessful

5) What mistakes does bilbo make in dealing with smaug, in your opinion?- Bilbo made a mistake about talking about lake town and we think that he made a mistake on getting him mad by showing himself after the riddle talk

6) what affect does the hoard of gold have on the various characters?- on the dwarves it makes them dreamy and on bilbo it make s him not recognize it and just look at the dangers
